Nowhere else but New York will you find the harmonious blend of multinational, multicultural inhabitants, a city of the world. Residents from some 170-odd foreign countries, speaking over 130 languages, call Gotham home. Like millions of immigrants who came before them, they help make the city what it is today, working among the 20,000 eateries, 10,000 stores and 150 museums scattered about the metropolis. Speaking of museums, the Metropolitan and MoMA are a must. NYC has so much to offer and we advise you catch as much as you possibly can. Take a trip to Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island, all of which have their own character and attractions. But let’s not forget Central Park. So when on a New York Break take some time out to take a horse and carriage trip, get your caricature drawn or just have a picnic by the lake and soak it all up. When here it is easy to forget that you are in the middle of this sprawling and bustling city at all.
New York has long been known as the city that never sleeps and this reputation is well and truly deserved. Whether a show on Broadway, a city bar beer or a trendy early hour’s nightclub is your thing, you will surely find plenty to do besides sleep. This city has it all, top restaurants, chic nightlife and remarkable theatre. Of course you need a well located hotel to round the trip off and my recommendations would be as follows:
The 4 star Dylan Hotel is a great boutique hotel located at 52 East 41 Street. The style of the hotel is very contemporary and brings old and new together very effectively. More importantly it’s location is excellent and it is very reasonably priced.
Another option which is always a winner is the Affinia Dumont, also a 4 star hotel and offering similar levels of great value. Probably comes in number 2 against the Dylan for me but a great secondary option to have if the Dylan is unavailable.
